Once upon a time, there was a queen who had it all.

    A loving people.

    A prosperous kingdom.

Everything she could ever want… except a king.

And in her land, the elders would say:

    “A queen without a king… is a queen without a throne.”

Every morning, they reminded her — Find yourself a husband.

    But the queen worried.

Where would she find a man worthy enough to rule beside her?

    Someone humble, strong, and wise?

One day, she dressed in plain clothes and walked among her people.

Through the busy market streets, her eyes searched.

Somewhere out there was a man who could be her partner.

    Her king.

    Her throne.

And so, first of all, she stopped at the cobbler’s shop.

She smiled at the handsome cobbler and asked,

"If you had the chance to be king, what would you do?"

    The cobbler grinned.

"Well… I would sit back, relax, and have myself a good drink — because I haven’t had one in a long time."

The queen nodded politely. "Very well," she said, and moved on.

Next, she came to the farmlands. She approached a sun-tanned farmer and asked,

"If you became king, what would you do?"

    The farmer’s eyes lit up.

"I would buy plenty of land… so I could grow more farms."

The queen sighed. "Very well," she replied, and continued her search.

She then wandered into a barnyard and found the barn owner stacking hay.

"If you were given the chance to be king, what would you do?" she asked.

The man’s face broke into a grin.

"First, I would throw a feast — for it’s no small thing to be king! Then I would buy herds and herds of cattle to fill my barn."

    The queen shook her head.

Every man seemed to think of himself first, not the kingdom.

Disheartened, she turned back toward the castle, certain she would never find her king.

But then… as she passed the orphanage, she saw a man kneeling among the children, fixing a broken toy.
