Latest hairstyles.
Expensive shoes.
Vacations.
Success stories.
And sometimes, it’s not just your mates —
It’s people younger than you, doing better.
Or at least… looking like they are.
You start to question yourself.
You feel behind.
You feel like you’re not doing enough.
But someone once told me something I’ll never forget:
“You don’t know what people have done to get what they have.”
And that stuck with me.
Because it’s true — you don’t know.
Some took shortcuts.
Some paid prices you wouldn’t want to pay.
Some are silently suffering, even while flaunting smiles online.
So no — it’s not laziness to move at your own pace.
It’s wisdom.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t hustle.
I’m not saying you should fold your arms and wait for miracles.
I’m saying:
Don’t destroy yourself trying to match someone else’s highlight reel.
Work hard.
Be focused.
Be consistent.
But walk in your own lane, not someone else’s timeline.
Everyone has a different path.
A different purpose.
A different kind of grace.
And if you stay true to yours?
You’ll reach your own success — in your own time.
Peer pressure is loud.
But trust me, peace of mind is louder.
