99 days agoAll my life, being born a female child, I’ve heard the same line over and over again:
“Is this how you’ll behave in your husband’s house?”
As if my entire existence is a rehearsal —
Not for life,
Not for growth,
But for a man I haven’t even met.
It’s funny how we say we’re in the 21st century,
Yet our mindset is still chained to our forefathers’ shadows.
From childhood, girls are groomed to serve —
Taught to cook, clean, submit, endure
— all in preparation to please a husband.
And what happens?
Women grow up believing their worth ends at the altar.
That marriage is the finish line.
That suffering is normal.
That without a man, they have no life.
So they stay.
In abuse.
In silence.
In desperation.
They enter marriages not out of love,
But out of fear that society has no space for an unmarried woman.
They stay not because they want to,
But because they’ve been programmed to believe they must.
This has to stop.
Women are not support characters in a man’s life.
We are independent beings, capable of purpose, identity, survival, success — with or without a man.
Until we start raising daughters to know their value —
And sons to respect it —
We’ll keep repeating this cycle of beautiful girls
turning into broken women.
Let this be the start of unlearning.
Let this be the beginning of reprogramming.
