Killed police officer…The Walvis Bay police officer who was killed while trying to talk a suspect out of taking his own life has been identified as 34-year-old Sergeant Simasiku Matongo. According to Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona, Matongo was shot in cold blood by Jacques Pienaar, a suspect from Usakos. Pienaar fled to Swakopmund after robbing a taxi driver, but was later shot during a scuffle with police. He died in the Swakopmund State Hospital.
