In the heart of Umudim village, where the sun kissed the earth and the roosters crowed with pride, lived a tortoise named Mbe. Known for his cunning ways and insatiable appetite, Mbe was both loved and feared by the animal community.
*The Mermaid's Invitation*
One day, while strolling by the river, Mbe heard a melodious voice singing. Curious, he followed the sound and discovered a beautiful mermaid named Adaeze, who was preparing a grand feast under the water.
"Hello, Mbe," Adaeze greeted. "Would you like to join my feast?"
Mbe's eyes sparkled. "Absolutely! But how can I dine underwater?"
Adaeze smiled. "I'll grant you the ability to breathe underwater for the day."
*The Underwater Feast*
With a magical touch, Adaeze transformed Mbe's shell into a diving suit. Together, they dove into the river, where a lavish banquet awaited. There were dishes Mbe had never seen: seaweed stew, clam cakes, and jellyfish jelly.
Mbe ate to his heart's content, forgetting all manners. He even tried to pocket some delicacies in his shell.
*The Consequence*
As the feast ended, Adaeze noticed Mbe's antics. "Mbe, you enjoyed the feast, but greed has consequences."
Before he could respond, the magic wore off, and Mbe found himself back on land, his shell heavier with the stolen food.
From that day on, Mbe's shell bore the scent of the sea, reminding him of the feast and the lesson learned.
