Lake Nakuru National Park boasts a rich diversity of vegetation types, including acacia forests, euphorbia woodlands, grasslands, and marshes. The park’s most iconic tree is the yellow-barked acacia (Acacia xanthophloea), commonly found along the shores. These habitats support a wide range of animal and bird species. The southern and eastern areas of the park are especially forested, providing shelter for rhinos and leopards. Seasonal flooding has altered some plant communities, turning woodlands into swamp. The park's vegetation not only supports biodiversity but also helps regulate the lake’s ecosystem by filtering runoff and stabilizing soil to prevent erosion.
