*Text : Matthew 5:48 – “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”*

*-----Inspirational Message-----*

The concept of walking in perfection often causes confusion, as many equate "perfection" with flawlessness. However, in the Bible, "perfection" often refers to maturity, wholeness, and walking uprightly before God. God’s call to perfection is not a demand for sinless living, but for a heart fully devoted to Him, growing daily in Faith, Obedience, and Love.

*1. God’s Call to Walk in Perfection.*

Genesis 17:1 – “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” God called Abraham to walk in perfection, even at the age of 99years. What God meant, was for Abraham to walk in Sincerity, Wholeheartedness, and Obedience to Him in all his ways. Walking in perfection is a covenant lifestyle of daily fellowship with God.

*2. What Does It Mean to Walk in Perfection?*

Matthew 5:48 – “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Jesus calls us to strive for divine maturity and completeness in Love and Character. God is calling us to spiritual maturity, being Christlike in our behavior, motives, and relationships. No wonder James said in James 1:4 – “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Spiritual perfection is the result of enduring trials with Faith. It produces complete character.

*3. Perfection Through Love and Holiness.*

1 John 4:17-18 – “1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” Love is the hallmark of Divine Perfection. Love for God and others matures us spiritually. Walking in Perfection involves Walking in Love. Also 2 Corinthians 7:1b says, – “...perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” It is a call to separate ourselves from sin and pursue holy living. Perfection is progressive—it is about growth in sanctification.

*4. Jesus, Our Model of Perfection.*

Hebrews 5:8-9a – “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect...” Jesus walked in obedience even through suffering. His perfection was demonstrated in Obedience and Submission. We are called to follow His steps. In 1 Peter 2:21-22 – “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth.”

*5. Tools for Walking in Perfection.*

a) The Word of God - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” The scripture trains us toward perfection.

b) Prayer and the Holy Spirit - Jude 1:20-21 – “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost: Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.* Prayer strengthens your spiritual walk.

c) Fellowship and Accountability. - Ephesians 4:12-13 – The scripture, emphasis that we should have fellowship with one another, untill we all come unto a perfect man in our walk with God. The church community helps believers grow to maturity.

*Conclusion.*

God is not asking for flawlessness but faithfulness. Walking in perfection means:

a) Walking in obedience,

b) Growing in love,

c) Maturing in character,

d) And living a holy life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Psalm 101:2 – “I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” Let us walk with a perfect heart before God, blameless and upright, relying on His Grace and Spirit.

*Prayer.*

Lord Jesus, help me to walk in Your ways with a perfect heart. Teach me obedience, strengthen me in holiness, and mature me in love. I yield myself fully to You. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
