Two months ago, a friend of mine who was looking for an apartment got a classy two-bedroom flat with a POP ceiling, scredded walls in a new nice compound for just 750k, 600k for annual rent and 150k for other fees.Â
Â
The house was amongst two houses in a new developing area, and he was the second but the only tenant living in the compound.Â
Â
According to him, the first tenant had already paid for his apartment but had refused to live there, citing the distance from his place of work.Â
Â
The next week, he bought new furniture, house appliances, TV, ACs, and everything his house needed; to be frank, his apartment was beautiful
Â
I remember how he used to come and tell us how we have been exploited, paying more for apartments in town when his own was "cheap" but better.Â
Â
Fast forward to last night, he called me with a trembling voice and asked if I was around; I told him yes, and he said he was coming and terminated the call.Â
Â
Less than an hour later, he came and was panting; I asked what happened.Â
Â
He said he had just come back from work and found out his house had been burgled.Â
Â
The burglars cleared everything in his house, including his clothes and even to the point of taking soap and detergents.
Â
He said that if we went to his house now, it looked like someone had just packed out.
Â
I felt for him and tried to calm him down, but till now, he's still in pain.
