50 days agoSolar Controllers are electronic devices that receive solar DC input from Solar panels in volts and regulate them for charging and storing the excess in batteries or directly using them for conversion to alternating current .
They are of different types and designs. The most common types are MPPT- Maximum power point tracking and PWM - Pulse Width Modulation .
MPPT Controllers are more efficient and extract more power from the solar panel by converting excess power to amperage ( current), they are therefore used for larger and fluctuating systems.
They are expensive but efficient enough to deliver the job for good solar set up
The PWM system are less efficient and waste excess voltage, though they are very affordable and are therefore used in small solar system setup
