Somewhere in this country, a mother is staring at an empty space at her dinner table. A chair that used to belong to her child sits untouched. A school uniform hangs, unworn, gathering dust. While the nation prepares to celebrate democracy today, families are still waiting, praying, and hoping for news of their kidnapped children and teachers, taken from classrooms that should have been safe. How do we sing songs of freedom when some of our own are not free? How do we talk about democracy when education, a basic right, has become a death trap in some parts of this country? Every day these children spend in captivity is a day stolen from their future, from their dreams, from their families. Teachers who went to mold young minds are now living in fear, separated from everything they know. This is not just their pain, it is our collective shame as a nation. Real democracy means every child can go to school and come back home safe. Until every kidnapped child and teacher is reunited with their family, can we really say we are celebrating anything today? Let us not forget them. Say a prayer for them. A prayer that will help this country 🙏😢
