    Episode 1 – First Encounter

The campus buzzed with energy as new students moved in and final-year students strutted around like they owned the world. For Amara, everything felt overwhelming. The sun was hot, the crowd noisy, and her heart kept racing as she clutched her admission letter tightly.

“This is it,” she whispered to herself. “A new beginning.”

She had barely made it into the registration hall when disaster struck. Carrying her small handbag and a bottle of water, she accidentally bumped into someone coming out. The cold liquid splashed all over his white shirt.

“Oh my God! I’m so sorry!” she gasped, fumbling for tissues.

The tall figure looked down at her, his brows raised. He was striking — smooth dark skin, confident eyes, and an aura that screamed popular. His friends behind him chuckled.

“It’s fine,” he said casually, pulling a handkerchief from his pocket. “No harm done.”

But Amara couldn’t stop staring. She recognized him instantly. Damilola. The campus heartthrob she had heard whispers about since she stepped foot into the hostel. Girls gossiped about him, seniors respected him, and here she was… staining his shirt on her very first day.

“I’m really sorry,” Amara repeated, her voice barely audible.

Dami gave a small smile — the kind that could melt anyone’s defenses. “Relax. What’s your name?”

Her mouth went dry. For a moment, she forgot how to speak. Then, quietly:

    “Amara.”

“Amara…” He repeated it slowly, as if testing the weight of it on his lips. “Nice name. Be careful next time, okay?”

Before she could reply, one of his friends called out, “Dami, let’s go jare!” and he walked off, still dabbing at his shirt.

Amara stood frozen, her heart pounding against her chest. She felt both embarrassed and strangely thrilled. She hadn’t even settled in, and somehow, she had crossed paths with the one guy everyone seemed to talk about.

As she made her way to the registration desk, Chidinma — her new roommate who had been waiting — raised her brows.

“Amara, what happened? Why’s your face like that?”

Amara bit her lip, clutching her admission letter tighter.

“Nothing,” she muttered. But deep down, she knew it wasn’t nothing. Something had just started — and she wasn’t ready for it.
