"You Won’t Go to Church Anyhow After Reading This"

    There was a time I thought anyone holding a Bible and standing on an altar was automatically holy and sent by God. Like many people, I believed going to church meant I was doing the right thing, no matter what. That belief nearly destroyed my family.

     

    Let me share something that happened not long ago — something that changed the way I see church forever.

     

    My aunty — a God-fearing woman — is the type that doesn’t joke with church. In fact, she attended three churches every week: her main church on Sundays, a prophetic church every Tuesday, and another one for “deliverance” every Friday night. People used to call her Mummy Fire because she would pray so loud that you could hear her from three houses away.

     

    To her, nothing was too much for God. She gave offerings, sowed seeds, attended vigils, and collected every kind of anointing oil you can imagine. If she didn’t attend a church for more than 2 days, she felt something was wrong spiritually.

     

    At first, everyone thought she was just passionate. But it got extreme. She would spend her last money just to travel to far churches, borrow airtime to listen to online services, and even refuse to go to the hospital for simple health issues — she said “God will heal.”

     

    Then something happened.

     

    Her only daughter — my cousin — started falling sick. At first it was just weakness. Then she began vomiting and fainting. We thought it was malaria. She prayed. We fasted. She carried her daughter from one church to another, praying and laying hands.

     

    One day, my cousin collapsed and almost died. That was when we forced her to go to the hospital. The doctors said the child was suffering from internal poisoning, and she was lucky to even be alive.

     

    That’s when the truth began to come out.

     

    The woman’s prophetic pastor — the one she trusted the most — had been giving her “special protection oil” for her daughter to drink every morning. He said it would protect the child from evil arrows. But when they tested it at the hospital, the oil contained chemicals dangerous to the stomach and liver.

     

    We were shocked.

     

    The same man she respected as her spiritual father, who claimed to see visions about her life, was slowly destroying her daughter. My aunty broke down and cried like a baby. She said she felt betrayed by God, but we told her: “God didn’t do this. You were following a man, not God.”

     

    Since that day, she stopped jumping from church to church. She prays at home, reads her Bible, and attends one small Bible-believing church once a week.

    ❗ Moral of the Story:

     

    God is real. Church is important. But not every pastor is sent by God. Some wear white garments but carry dark powers. Some speak in tongues, but speak lies in private.

     

    Don't be desperate to hear prophecy. Pray for wisdom, not just miracles. And most importantly — have your own personal relationship with God.
